We had a barking fun time in Clearwater meeting lots of new friends like the Chihuahua Rescue in Tampa, Beverly Hills Dog from Sarasota, David Halliburton, Tropical Petwear, Cronin Creations, Dunedin Doggie Rescue, Dog Travel Channel and Network, and lots of really cool dogs and their owners. Thanks to the Pinellas County Humane Society for putting together this fun dog event. David took some awesome photos of me and my human! We hope to see you this Saturday at Largo Central Park from 10am to 2pm for "Woofstock!"
Lead Your Human(R),

Hello,
This is a message to those of you who would like to see me and shake my paw. Here's an opportunity to meet me... This Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, you will find me strolling around
Here are my views on football, taken from Max City Dog.
"When people catch the ball, they run away. When dogs catch a ball, we also run away because we don't like giving it back either.
After all when you catch a ball, it's yours. People are like dogs that way."
See you soon!
Max

Hello to all from Max. Hope you are well this Holiday Season. This is a series of photos of my human friend, Emilia, and canine friend, Lola. Emilia is six years old as you may recall. She is responsible for feeding Lola every day. You can see by her smile that she loves dogs, especially Lola. First, she mixes the dry kibble with some wet food. Secondly, she places the bowls in the feeder and gently pets Lola. Lola happens to prefer love over food, so she needs attention before chowing down. Then, Emilia can't resist giving Lola a hug. Lola has been trained to be calm and accept human intervention while she is eating. She doesn't growl, and is very gentle with children. Lastly, Emilia puts the food away and cleans the counter. All of you human parents who think a six year old isn't mature enough to take care of a dog, meet Emilia and the well trained, Lola. These photos were taken several months ago. Lola has since become pregnant and delivered three amazing puppies. They were born on December, 17, 2008.

Hi friends and visitors,
This is my friend, Lola. She is a real dog, not imaginary, like me. She is an Australian Sheppard (like me) with one blue eye and one brown eye. All dogs look so different, and Aussie's can have various color combinations. Lola's coloring is called Red Merle. You can see how happy Lola is because my human friend, Emilia, is reading to her. See Lola smiling... I have a lot to say about Lola, and I will share so much with you. 'Max

Good evening humans and canines. Tonight I will tell you some general information about the book which features me, Max, as the main character. It was written by Glenn R. Munyan, dog lover and writer.
This book is divided into four parts which include a total of 20 chapters, and is written in first dog instead of first person! This totally draws the reader into my world. The humans who read this book almost immediately identify with me and feel like they are me as they read. Woof!
Age Level - Children from age 5 to 12 have enjoyed my story, but the book can be used in classrooms most appropriately for grades 2-5. My human friend, Emilia, is six and she likes to pretend she is me sometimes!
Themes - Acceptance, Self Esteem, Coping Mechanisms, Love, Family Relationships
Character Traits- Support, Courage, Friendship
Now that you humans have the basics, I can try out this blogging with some fun stuff. Do you have a dog? What kind? What do you do to take care of it? My friend Emilia has an Aussie, just like me. Her name is Lola. What is your dog's name?
Greetings to all humans from Max.
I am the main character in the book Max, City Dog...a children's chapter book written in first dog. I'm an Aussie pup born in Tampa, Fl. at Bobbie's Top Quality Aussie's. All my sisters were gifted with the "perfect" Aussie show dog gene. I was missing the "coordination" gene and the "perfect" Aussie show dog gene. Whew.
My story is great for humans to read to their dogs. Love, acceptance, coping skills and self esteem are themes that prevail in my story...as I am mistakingly sent to Boston as Maxine...a girl doggie...Of course, I am a boy doggie. Anyhow, Patty and Andrew Maxwell take me in and send me to doggie daycare where I meet two awesome dog friends, Chow Chow and Peppy.
I will devote this blog to sharing with you funny stories, helpful information for kids, teachers and dog lovers through my canine trials and tribulations, and accomplishments.
Keep posted and please feel free to post a response or ask me any questions.
My favorite dog sound is ....Ahhrroouugghh.
Ahhrroouugghh,
Max
